Depending on where you live there is a very cheap wholesale hardware store called HOBO its one located in Chicago(you might need to search around for area listings)…but try simpler places like Loews or Home Depot

Joseph asks…
What are those decals called that stores and restaurants use to put their logo on the storefront windows?

It is just a vinyl film, like a sticker. Any sign company should be able to make one for you. I had one made for the window on the door of my business. It cost about $20, but I provided the logo. It will cost more if you need them to design your logo for you.

I need HELP decorating my storefront windows at a local newsstand in a downtown area.?
I run a small store in a downtown district; which is very square and very boring at the moment. Because I can’t actually change the architect of the building itself, I would love to utilize the windows, and the entry to the store, to its’ best advantage. The windows are fairly large and simply state the name of the store on them. I have some glass cubes that I’ve stacked and placed merchandise on, but it they’re lacking interest. I really need something that ‘pops’. Most everyone is walking when they shop near there and I feel as though I simply have too much in the windows. There are so many different things in the store to display, none of which really ‘match’ each other so it tends to look like chaos when I rearrange the items in the windows. It’s a newsstand but it’s also a novelty store that sells beer and cigarettes and I need something to really attract without the annoyance of a bright neon sign or a dummy wearing clothing. HELP!!!! Where do I begin???

Hi shelby,
i am an architect and also an industrial designer by qualification . I have been practising in the field of retail design for past 3 years. Making your show window speak volumes about your store and attract the customers attention is an art and the most important element of store design.
You can use strong colors, very bright light, monotone, repetition, or contrast as design elements to enhance the look of the window.
If you want me to give you real professional advice you can email me a picture of your show window and I will be able to help you better.
Best,
P

HoustonCheapRetailSpace answers:
Yes, professional sign paint which can be purchased at your local art supply store. I would use a UV resistant sealer too.
